Create Custom
Christmas Ornament Cards!

I photographed this big, beautiful, red ornament
at Menards in Osage Beach, Missouri.

This photograph would make a great cover
on a Christmas card - all by itself -
but look what else you can do!

I used Microsoft Publisher, and added
family photos and text to create custom graphics.

Hint: ADD TEXT
You can do the normal
"Draw Text Box"
OR
Go to "Insert" tab and click on "Word Art"
to add multi-colored text.
To change the text, RIGHT CLICK
on the text and find the "ABC" to edit text
in the top little box. Move mouse over
other options in the little box to
change shape of text and other options as well.

Hint: When resizing photos
HOLD DOWN on the "Shift" key
the entire time as you "pull" the photo
to a larger or smaller size
- so the image does not distort.

Hint: Picture Tools/FORMAT tab
(TO change the way text wraps around objects)
Click on "none" if you want no text wrap.

SAVE FILE

I saved each graphic two ways:
1) as a Publisher file,
and
2) did an additional "save as" in a jpg file.

I imported and cropped each jpg file
into a new Microsoft Publisher page,
to create this Christmas family collage.

Again - I saved this design two ways:
as a Publisher file, and did another
"save as" in jpg format.

These are great designs
to post to facebook, and email to friends.

Have copies made for cards:
Email jpg files to
your local Office Depot,
or copy them at home
to create beautiful Christmas cards.

Optional:
Print and cut out ornaments,
to make actual ornaments
for your Christmas tree.

The season of Christmas

is the most romantic of all.

"YOU are the gift I ask Santa for

every Christmas.

Merry Christmas to the one I love."

Isn't the 60-inch bronze SANTA adorable?

He is taller than my daughter, Faith!

I discovered this SANTA at the Menards

in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Menards has a whimsical fantasy land filled with

Santas, beautiful trees, and Christmas decorations

for inside and outside your home.

Here are a few of the

handmade Santas and ornaments

I've created over the years.

Fabric Santa

I made this Santa with muslin, calico and ticking fabric,

and added a sack on Santa's back

filled with dried flowers. Each season I add fresh fragrant oils.

A doll stand (under his robe) makes it possible

for Santa to stand upright on my kitchen table.

Wood Santa

with Garland of Dried Fruits

I cut this Santa from wood

(various widths of 1/2-inch pine and 1/4-inch plywood),

and painted it with acrylic paints.

It is adorned with a rafia garland

with hanging dried apples and oranges,

and a few pieces (stockings) cut from 1/4-inch plywood.

The primitive tree in Santa's hand is made

from a dowel rod and fabric scraps tied around the rod.

I included photographs of my

handmade Christmas decorations to the bookmarks

that I created in Microsoft Publisher.

I laminated the bookmarks and added red ribbon.

I love to use the jigsaw and scroll saw

to cut out wood figures and ornaments to paint.

My daddy was a carpenter.

He taught me how to use power tools.

I get excited when shoppping for tools and lumber.

I love the smell of sawdust.

I painted the Santa below on fabric (with acrylic paints),

and then sewed the stocking,

and added buttons, dried flowers, feathers,

cinnamon sticks, moss and pinecones

My friend, Louise's husband, cut out this Santa from pine.

I painted him with acrylic paints.

a muslin fabric beard, and the hat and robe are

made from a red bandana.

I purchased this handmade Santa pillow from a friend at a craft sale over 20 years ago. It's always fun to bring him out each season.
