I photographed this big, beautiful, red ornament
at Menards in Osage Beach, Missouri.

This photograph would make a great cover
on a Christmas card - all by itself -
but look what else you can do!

I used Microsoft Publisher, and added
family photos and text to create custom graphics.

Hint:  ADD  TEXT
You can do the  normal
"Draw Text Box"
OR
Go to "Insert" tab and click on "Word Art"
to add multi-colored text.
To change the text, RIGHT CLICK
on the text and find the "ABC" to edit text
in the top little box.  Move mouse over
other options in the little box to
change shape of text and other options as well.

Hint:  When resizing photos
HOLD DOWN on the "Shift" key
the entire time as you "pull" the photo
to a larger or smaller size
- so the image does not distort.

Hint:  Picture Tools/FORMAT tab
(TO change the way text wraps around objects)
Click on "none" if you want no text wrap.

SAVE FILE

I saved each graphic two ways:
1) as a Publisher file,
and
2) did an additional "save as" in a jpg file.

I imported  and cropped each jpg file
into a new Microsoft Publisher page,
to create this Christmas family collage.

Again - I saved this design two ways:
as a Publisher file, and did another
"save as" in jpg format.

These are great designs
to post to facebook, and email to friends.

Have copies made for cards:
Email  jpg files to
your local Office Depot,
 or copy them at home
to create beautiful Christmas cards.

Optional:
Print and cut out ornaments,
to make actual ornaments
for your Christmas tree.

WRINKLES

Marcia Norwood
America's STORYTELLER
Telling Untold Stories in Photographs, Prose and Public Speaking

Worried about wrinkles?

"All of these lines across my face
tell you the story of who I am...
But these stories don't mean anything
when you have no one to tell them to..."
Brandi Carlile

Thank you for listening to my stories.

Today,  I'm sharing something for wrinkled skin and wrinkled souls.

Let's set the mood with music,
and listen to one of my favorite songs:

Something For Wrinkled Skin:

R E C I P E
Homemade Body Lotion
It's simple to make.
It's inexpensive to make.
It's messier to make than you think....
but it makes the most wonderful gifts!

Copyright 2012 Marcia Norwood
Ingredients:

2 Jars Store-Brand Vitamin E Cream
2 Store-Brand Baby Lotion Bottles
1 Jar Store-Brand Vaseline Petroleum Jelly
(Save money and purchase all items at dollar stores.)

Dump all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

(Get a BIGGER mixing bowl than you think you will need.

(Cut apart the baby lotion bottles to get more out.)

Mix.
(I used an electric mixer on low speed.  Don't overheat mixer.)

Spoon lotion into little jars.  You might want to reuse Vitamin E cream  or Vaseline jars, or antique or fancy jars.  RECYCLE:  I clean and use glass Shatto milk bottles,  and other glass bottles and jars.

Yes!  It's that easy!

Now - go make some.

Think of a name for your line of bath and body products.

Optional:  Add essential oils for fragrance.

I found glass jars at Hobby Lobby, and  Hy-Vee grocery store, and online at Specialty Bottle.

It's fun to decorate jars with shells, charms, glass and cording.

I created labels in Microsoft Publisher and printed them on photo paper on my Kodak 5300 Easyshare printer.

 Something For Wrinkled Souls:

"People grow old only by deserting their ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin,
but to give up interest wrinkles the soul."
"You are as young as your faith,
as old as your doubt;
as young as your self-confidence,
as old as your fear;
as young as your hope,
as old as your despair."
"In the central place of every heart
there is a recording chamber.
So long as it receives messages
of beauty, hope, cheer and courage,
so long you are young."
"When your heart is covered with the
snows of pessimism and
the ice of cynicism, then,
and then only,
are you grown old.
And then, indeed as the ballad says,
you just fade away."
Douglas MacArthur
(1880-1964)
American General who commanded the Southwest Pacificin World War II
