WHOSOEVER WILL

Mary Marcia
America's STORYTELLER

Happy Easter!

The message of Easter is for "whosoever will.

Whosoever Will May Come

"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.
And let him that heareth say, Come.
And let him that is athirst come.
And whosoever will,
let him take of the water of life freely."

Revelation 22:17
The Holy Bible

It's a message for believers,  and also hope for  agnostics and  atheists.

Just ask Lee Strobel.

Strobel received a journalism degree from University of Missouri and a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School, becoming a journalist for The Chicago Tribune and other newspapers for 14 years. Formerly an avowed atheist, he began investigating the Biblical claims about Christ after his wife's conversion. Prompted by the results of his investigation, he became a Christian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikxb09pyZwM

He is risen!

The message of Easter is for "whosoever will.

It's for me,  and for you, and for anyone who believes, and receives JESUS as their savior.

"For whosoever
shall call
upon the name of the LORD
shall be saved."

Romans 10:13
The Holy Bible

WHY IS IT CALLED GOOD FRIDAY?

WHY IS IT CALLED GOOD FRIDAY?

First Spring Flowers In My Yard!  Copyright 2014 Marcia Norwood

GOOD FRIDAY is an expression peculiar to the English language.  It's called Karfreitag in German.  "Kar" is an obsolete word - the ancestor of the English word "care" - as in cares and woes.  It meant mourning.   In German -- it is MOURNING FRIDAY.

The disciples mourned on the day Jesus Christ was crucified.  They thought all was lost...but then came the resurrection!

Perhaps we call it GOOD FRIDAY because the crucifixion of Jesus on a cross brought about the greatest gift to mankind: salvation.

CHILL the  peanut butter filling in the refrigerator.

GATHER candy melts and candy molds.

I purchased candy melts and molds
at Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

I found
"Confectionery Twisting Wax Paper" at DEALS.

My new favorite tool for working with candy melts
is the "Drizzling Scoop."

Brushes are used to "paint" chocolate in the candy molds.

Melt candy wafers in a double boiler, or microwave.
Directions are on the back of the candy package.

I use the microwave.
  • Place candy wafers in microwave safe bowl.
(I used a glass measuring cup.)
  • Microwave for 30-second intervals...stirring in between.

POUR into molds...1/4 to 1/2 full.

PAINT melted chocolate candy
up on the side of the mold.

REFRIGERATE for a few minutes
until chocolate is set.

Take candy mold out of the refrigerator, and PUSH a glob of peanut butter filling in the center of each chocolate cup.
Flatten the filling, and pour more
melted chocolate over the top of the filling.

REFRIGERATE again for a few minutes
until  the top layer of chocolate is set.

Yummy!

You know those boxes that chocolates come in?
I wanted something different for my candy:
something that was colorful,
and something that would hold up during shipping.

Instead of using a paper box
for my homemade peanut butter cups,
I purchased a blue, plastic container
with multiple compartments
in the jewelry department at Michaels.

I washed it before adding the chocolates.

I finally found Edible Easter Grass
at the second Target store I went to.
The first Target store I went to sold out, and
so did the Wal-Mart.

Edible Grass has absolutely no nutritional value,
and is full of artificial flavors and preservatives,
but it looks so cute with my candy.
My daughter, Faith, says it tastes like an ice cream cone.

What a cute box of candy filled with
delicious homemade peanut butter cups...
and edible grass!

I also had fun using egg molds to make
chocolate Easter eggs...and heart chocolate suckers...
and adding peanut butter flavored melts to pretzels.

When the chocolate eggs were ready,
I added them inside plastic yellow "chick" eggs!

I think I found the yellow chick eggs at DEALS.

I also found clear plastic "chick" eggs,
(at DEALS)
and filled them with homemade and purchased candy,
nuts, lifesavers and sunflower seeds.
