The Denver Broncos are returning to the Super Bowl for the first time in 15 years after defeating the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship, 26-16. It is the seventh trip to the Super Bowl for the franchise and the third for quarterback Peyton Manning, although it is his first trip since joining the Broncos.

I remember Super Bowl I...back-in-the-day (1967) when the Kansas City Chiefs (AFL champions) took on the Green Bay Packers (NFL champions).
The Kansas City Star ran a small article about the display I created in my front yard in support of the Kansas City Chiefs. I was a Senior at Liberty High School in 1967. I put a clothesline between two trees in my front yard, and hung KC Chief's practice jerseys on the line.
My favorites were: Len Dawson, Fred Arbanas, Bobby Bell, Sherrill Headrick, Mike Garrett, Otis Taylor, Emmitt Taylor, Jarrel Wilson, Ed Budde.
I wish I had those jerseys now!

The Kansas City Chiefs summer training center was at William Jewell College, in my hometown of Liberty, Missouri. I met several KC Chief players the summer of 1966, at McBowl, where I worked at the bowling alley's restaurant as a waitress to earn money for cheerleading camp. Most of the players were very kind. They asked me to make pitchers of "Half-and Half" - a mixture of 1/2 Ice Tea and 1/2 Lemonade.
Anyone else remember the first Super Bowl...when a Super Bowl ad cost far less than the current rate of $4 million dollars per 30 seconds?
Super Bowl I was played on January 14, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, and was the first American Football League-National Football League World Championship Game in professional American football.
Super Bowl I (also called the Supergame) wasn't even a sell out. It was the only Super Bowl to be simulcast in the U.S. by two networks: NBC (with rights to nationally televise AFL games) and CBS (with rights to broadcast NFL games).
Entertainment at the first Super Bowl consisted of college bands, rather than popular singers and musicians in recent Super Bowls.
Many sports writers and fans believe any team in the old NFL was superior to any club in the AFL - and they expected Green Bay to blow out Kansas City. The first half was competitive, but Green Bay won by a score of 35 - 10.
The KC Chiefs are long overdue for another trip to the Superbowl.
Here's a little something I designed in honor of my friend, Michael, who is a KC Chiefs' Fanatic.
Actually - I think the design would be great for all the KC Chief Fans - who have been called the 13th man on the field at Arrowhead!
October 13, 2013, the FANS at Arrowhead Stadium broke the GUINNESS record for the Loudest Outdoor Stadium...at 137.5 decibels.
