RECIPE

This recipe for candy coated cake pops
took me all day to make,
but I'm trilled with the presentation.

They are not difficult to make, but they are time consuming.

I tried to make cake pops previously,
using a special pan that I purchased,
but I couldn't get the pops out of the pan.
These cake pops are
made without any special cake-pop pan!
They would be great
using red and green color for Christmas,
or in blue or purple for birthday celebrations.

6. ROLL into 1-inch balls and PLACE on cookie sheet. (Add oil or butter to hands. This gets sticky! I made 32 balls - slightly larger than one-inch. Some were too large to fit in the cake pop boxes.)

I had to show these photos to my family.
They thought this was raw cake batter!
Not so - it just looks like it when
you crumble and cake and add whipped icing!

8. MICROWAVE Candy Melts plus Crisco shortening (uncovered) in a microwavable bowl. (Use one tablespoon Crisco shortening for each cup of Candy Melts.) Follow directions on Candy Melt package to microwave.
9. DIP tip of 1 lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into melted candy, and insert stick into base of 1 cake pop - no more than halfway.

I didn't add enough Crisco shortening to my orange
candy melts, and it was thick and hard to work with.
The yellow candy melts were much easier to work with
because I added the right amount of Crisco:
(One Tablespoon Crisco for each cup of candy melts.)
