Black and White

Here are some of my favorite photos
translated in black and white,
along with some pretty diverse quotations.

"Conservative people tend to see the world

in black and white terms, good and evil.

Liberals see grays.

In any talk format,

you have to pound home a strong point of view.

If you're not providing controversy and excitement,

people won't listen, or watch."

I actually thought Paul Simon's lyrics said:

"Everything looks great in black and white."

The lyrics actually are:

"Everything looks worse in black and white."

Paul Simon

"Kodachrome" is a great song relating back to the days when colored film became available.  It was written and recorded by Paul Simon  from his 1973 album, "There Goes Rhymin' Simon."

"When you're the victim of the behavior,
it's black and white;
when you're the perpetrator,
there are a million shades of gray."

"They (black and white musicians) jived
between each other.
All were artists,
playing foolish,
having fights and making love
as if the rest of the world
had no racial problems whatsoever."

you photograph their clothes.
But when you photograph people in black and white,
you photograph their souls."
