A cloud
is a large collection
of very tiny droplets
of water or ice crystals.
The droplets
are so small and light
that they can
float
in the air.

John Lubbock
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass
under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time.”
John Lubbock, The Use Of Life

"God writes the Gospel
not in the Bible alone,
but also on
trees,and in the flowers,
and clouds and stars."
Martin Luther

W.B. Yeats
I know that I shall meet my fate
somewhere among the clouds above;
those that I fight I do not hate,
those that I guard I do not love.”

Arthur Conan Doyle

How sweet the morning air is!
See how that one little cloud
floats like a pink feather
from some gigantic flamingo.
Now the red rim of the sun
pushes itself over the London cloud-bank.
It shines on a good many folk, but on none,
I dare bet,
who are on a stranger errand than you and I.
How small we feel
with our petty ambitions and strivings
in the presence of the great

Charles M. Schulz
Aren't the clouds beautiful?
They look like big balls of cotton...
I could just lie here all day, and watch them drift by...
If you use your imagination,
you can see lots of things in the cloud formations...
What do you think you see, Linus?"
"Well, those clouds up there look like the map
of the British Honduras on the Caribbean...
That cloud up there looks a little like the profile
of Thomas Eakins, the famous painter and sculptor...
And that group of clouds over there gives me the impression
of the stoning of Stephen...
I can see the apostle Paul standing there to one side..."
"Uh huh...
That's very good...
What do you see in the clouds, Charlie Brown?"
"Well, I was going to say
I saw a ducky and a horsie, but I changed my mind!
Charles M. Schulz, The Complete Peanuts, Vol. 5: 1959-1960

 "To penetrate and dissipate
these clouds of darkness,
the general mind must be strengthened
by education."

President Thomas Jefferson

"Heavy hearts,
like heavy clouds in the sky,
are best relieved
by the letting of a little water."

Mom used to lie down in the grass with
my sister, Gloria;
my cousin, Tandra,
and me
when we were little girls.

Mom encouraged us to look up at the clouds,
and use our imagination
to see things in the cloud formations.

What a JOY to discover bunnies,
turtles, puppies, and castles in the clouds.

Now I look at the clouds in the sky at sunset,
and imagine I see Mom and Dad
on Heaven's balcony...dancing on the clouds.
