Here is a blog I first posted
on September 17, 2014.

Two years ago
my granddaughter, Megan, and I
read scripture together every morning.

Today, almost two years later,
Megan has run away from home.
She is 17 years old.

She can't run away from GOD,
who is able to seek and save the lost.

 I'm praying that every scripture
planted in Megan's heart leads her home.

GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

I make her read with me, even when she does not want to.

Jesus "increased in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and man," as scripture declares in Luke 2:52.

We are wise to provide opportunities for our children to grow intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually.

Megan and I are currently reading:  The One Year DEVOS for TEEN GIRLS.

I purchased several teen devotional books at Mardel, a Christian bookstore.   We began reading this one because the Converse shoes on the cover are exactly the ones that Megan wears.  She has several pairs in different colors.

Megan and I began our study of this devotional book in September, rather than in January, but it works.  You can begin your journey any day of the year.

At the end of each devotion - the authors, Dannah Gresh and Suzy Weibel, challenge you to get busy and take action.

Megan and I made a sign, and put it on our refrigerator as part of our first action step.  We were challenged to memorize the Holy Bible scripture in Micah 6:8, and use it to make all our decisions this year.

Authors,  Dannah Gresh and Suzy Weibel, set out to tackle top concerns for teens.  They sent out an e-mail to one hundred college girls they knew personally, and asked them this question:

"When you were in high school, what were the top ten topics you wish someone had challenged you with?"

I haven't been in high school for 47 years, but today's devotion was exactly what I needed to hear.

What's on your "bucket list" - three risks you would like to take for God before the end of this year - three ways you can leave your comfort zone - and begin to look for ways to fulfill that list?!

One of the things on my bucket list - one risk I want to take for God is to tell you a story about something that I was involved in in college at Mizzou.  I'll save that for the next blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Come back often, and invite a friend!

Please join me in prayer
 for  my granddaughter, Megan,
and for all children who are lost.

Megan ran away from her home on April 8, 2016.
She may be living with a boyfriend and his family (who we do not know) near Milton and New Columbia, Pennsylvania.

The police now are rendered impotent
to bring  Megan,
and any other 16 and 17 year old  home
because the hands of the police are tied by a bad law
that gives adult rights to children,
and requires their parents to pay
for their runaway lifestyle.

This law needs to be changed.
