It is celebrated through out North America, but if you don't live in North America - you can celebrate it, too! S'MORES are a delicious mix of graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate that's made into a type of goooey chocolate sandwich.
We like S'MORES so much that we keep a candle in the kitchen, and roast marshmallows indoors all year long by candlelight!
Imagine how happy my family was when I discovered this recipe for S'MORE bars!

Prepare 20 Ounce Package of Brownie Mix according to package directions.
Spread carefully over graham crackers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Take out of oven.
Sprinkle the following over Brownie layer:
- 2 Cups Mini-Marshmallows
- 1 Cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- 2/3 Cup Chopped Pecans

Bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until golden.
Cool in pan on a wire rack.
Cut into bars.
Makes 2 dozen.
I wrap the bars individually to keep them fresh, and to give as gifts.

The very first printed record of a recipe for S'MORES was in 1927 in a Girl Scout's manual entitled, "Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts."
It is said the S'MORES original name was actually "some more", awarded
because of the constant requests for more, and later shortened to
simply "S'MORE."
It's suggested that this abbreviation was perhaps born
from sticky mouthed individuals unable to properly say, "some more,
please" or that S'MORES are just so delicious, you don't have time to
say the whole phrase.
